Breathing Space's 'Mindfulness for Health' programme teaches Mindfulness Based Approaches (MBAs) to help prevent relapse into depression and addiction and to manage stress and anxiety. Breathing Space is run by the London Buddhist Centre, a long established registered charity.
Since it was initiated in 2004 by Dr Paramabandhu Groves, an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist, the programme has helped over 2000 people. Our teachers are trained and supervised by Dr Groves and have extensive experience of mindfulness practice and teaching.
We run about 15 MBA events (courses, retreats and training days) and 48 drop-in sessions for carers per year. All our courses and retreats are monitored and evaluated. We have a strong track record of working alongside mental health professionals in East London.
