Breathing Space Director and Trustee

Maitreyabandhu has been practising meditation for 22 years, and teaching it for 19 years. He was ordained into the Triratna Buddhist Order in 1990.

He is skilled at developing and initiating large-scale innovatory projects. 

He initiated the Breathing Space Carers Project in 2004 and oversaw all design aspects of the new Breathing Space venue. His first book 'Thicker than Blood: Friendship on the Buddhist Path' (Windhorse Publications 2001) was discussed on BBC Radio 4.

Maitreyabandhu's work in alternative health and Buddhism has attracted considerable media interest including TV, radio and national newspapers.

He has published essays in the UK and abroad as well as contributing to various books and magazines on Buddhism and related subjects.

His most recent book 'Life with Full Attention' (July 2009) is a practical guide to using mindfulness in daily life.
