Breathing Space is funded by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to provide up to 15 free places per year on Mindfulness Based Addiction Recovery (MBAR) for addiction courses for people living on a low income in Tower Hamlets.

To be eligible for a free place you need to be:

  • Resident in Tower Hamlets
  • Unemployed, on benefits or low income
  • Age 18 or over
  • Willing to commit yourself to attending all 6 sessions
  • Able to take part in monitoring and evaluation

Please note that this course is not appropriate if you are currently using substances as part of your addiction.

What happens next?

We will let you know if you are eligible for a free place within two weeks of receiving your application. If requests are very high we may need to ask you to go on a waiting list. If you are not eligible, you are still very welcome to attend as a paying participant; we try to keep course fees to the minimum.

Free places on follow on retreats

Breathing Space is also funded by Tower Hamlets Social Services to provide up to 15 free places per year on two-day retreats for people who are new to Mindfulness Based Approaches or who have completed MBAR or Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for depression courses. More info here.
